Leslie Trading is a family textile manufacturing company owned by Jack and Sue Leslie and managed by daughter Helen and son in-law Kerry.

Established in Otaki in 1962 under the name Professional Uniform Company, it came to Paraparaumu as The Leslie Trading Company in 1973

How The Leslie Trading Company has survived in the competitive textile industry for all these years comes down to its ability to spot trends and to diversify with changing times . That's where Hairy Melon comes in.

Originally, bulk producers of hospital clothing, Leslie Trading still manufacture uniforms on a contract basis for a number of companies and government agencies. The Hairy Melon venture is an exciting diversification for them. This is the first time in the company's history that they have made and marketed their own distinct product.
